stupid pinheads

This might seem like a joke. It isn't. I got email at work informing me (as well as the rest of the staff) that the name of the grounds where I work is being changed to "Naval Support Facility - Observatory". The email was quite clear that I will continue to work for USNO because USNO is now an organization of people who now AT NSFO. The amount of history that is being swept away is staggering. The only good point is that they decided it was too expensive to replace the granite sign at the front entrance that says "USNO", but they will be replacing the admittedly crappy sign at the "South" entrance with something that says NSFO.

I can't tell you how much I want to find the pinhead in Naval District Potomac who made this decision and puke in his/her shoes. Its like renaming the White House to be "Presidental Living Quarters -White".

Well, everyone still calls Camp David "Camp David," even though it's officially Naval Support Facility - Thurmont. But yes, they're stupid pinheads.

Well, of course, Camp David manages by having no signs at all, as if they really could keep from people from knowing that it's there.
