About two years ago I bought a DVD player. It had all the features I wanted, it played vcd's and svcd's, it did progressive scan, it had dolby 5.1 output, and it was reasonably priced ($150). About a year later (it came with a 90 day warrenty) the power supply blew, and I paid about 70 bucks for a new power supply. That was about a year ago, and it appears the power supply has gone *again*. Not totally, but I opened it to clean it out, and there is an obvious burst capacitor in the power supply, and its acting flakey.

What ever happened to the idea that consumer electronics could last upward of 20 years?

Chaps!

My chaps arrived. They are a bit tight, but should loosen up a touch with some wear. Now to figure out when I can show them off. :)
