observing update

I'm half way through the observing, having finished two of the four nights. Observing can get boring at times, especially at 3am. I've had decent weather so far, although I'm not sleeping as well as I would like to, and my back is hurting. I think the bed is too soft. I finish observing Saturday night, then have a trip down the montain Sunday, and I leave for home on Monday, arriving Tuesday. I'll need to find someplace I can buy a sombrero for Pam, and bring it back on the plane. That should be fun.

Saw the Southern Cross and Alpha Centauri last night. Mars is spectacular.
