That was new
Nov. 13th, 2006 11:00 amI went to a burlesque show last night, first time ever for me. One of our (ok, Pam's friend) has been doing burlesque for a while, and this is the third time we got invited to a show. Being invited didn't mean I got free tickets, but the first time we got invited the place was sold out, but Maggy Moo's ice cream sufficed to make it a good day, the second time we were busy, but this time I wanted to go. I was told it started at 7, and I left a tad early to make sure the bad weather didn't make me late. I got to the place (Warehouse theater, which is a little rinky dink place right next to the monstrocity they call the convention center) and found out the door opened at 8. I nursed a beer for a while, the door opened at 8:30, and the show started at 9. I was suprized that the crowd was about 80 percent women, mostly mid 20's, and very well dressed. The men (mostly with dates, only two single men were there) were dressed casually. The burlesque was about what I thought it would be, I had fun evesdropping on the conversations. I was amused by the two 25 year old women talking about how they liked picking up an 18 year old frat boy about once a month for mindless sex. Apparently 18 year olds are good for the ego's of mid twenties women. Man I feel old. However Miss Kitty Victorian ran a nice show.
