I was getting ready to go to bed last night, when my lovely wife said to me "Do you need help in doing (unpleasant task)*?"

I replied that I wasn't aware that I was doing (unpleasant task).

After a silence of about 10 seconds, I replied "No, I'm fine doing it myself".
