drumming

I drove north up to the Baltimore region to spend some time with Bart and Brandie to do some drumming. Met in some new age shop that I had never heard of, standard crystal and incense store. B and B were charming as always, and Brandie practically glowed with with glitter she had on. The first hour of the drumming I felt like I kept losing the beat, and stopping, but the second hour was better. At one point during the long jamming I noticed that Brandie (who was sitting to my right) and I were doing the same rhythm, so I just kept the beat going. A few minutes later the store employee kinda sort in charge changed the beat, and both Brandie and I changed with him and continued in tandem. Totally unplanned on either of our parts, and we didn't say anything to each other at the time, but it became apparent we both were aware of what we were doing! Go us!

That sounds like you got into the groove of a musicians circle of any kind... When you can go with the flow and stay attuned to the people next to you, it's a deeply satisfying feeling.
