thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving to everyone. We had a very nice thanksgiving, marred only by Sierra the wonder puppy being more feisty than average. She was in rare form today. It started with her snagging a bag of raw rolls while we were out at ihop for breakfast. She swiped them from a place which had previous been safe from her, but obviously can't be trusted anymore. I found five of the six rolls outside in the dogs usual hiding spot for stolen food. I mentally shrugged and figured the standard rule that its the humans responsibility to keep the food from the dogs. We had very nice collection of people over, but to my surprize they were didn't know each other even though I thought some of them had met before. We had way more food than could be eaten, which is standard for thanksgiving, and at one point after we were in the post eating chatting around the table Sierra was obviously begging for food, but no one gave her scraps, which was good, and she went outside for a minute, and came back in with a roll, which she then proceeded to gnaw on while on her bed. I thought that a bit cheeky of her, but didn't do anything about it. After everyone had left, Pam and I had put about 3/4ths of the mess away and we took a break to watch CSI. We were about halfway through when we heard this "thunk" sound from upstairs, and I quickly went up to find the gravy bowl upside down on the floor, gravy everywhere, and the platter with the turkey about 49% hanging over the edge, and a Sierra dog looking mightly abashed. Well, *someone* got the spanking of her life after that one, and ended up running out the dog door to escape her vengence. I yelled at her so much that even King went into hiding, even though he hadn't done anythign wrong. I was amased at the sheer gall of that dog, trying to swipe food while we're still in the house. Someone is finding herself on short rations for about six months I think.
