Solstice event
Dec. 17th, 2003 01:52 pmI got the following note in my work email today
Now, I haven't decided if *I* am going, but if anyone has an interest, I can
do my best to get them in.
You are all invited to attend a Winter Solstice celebration from 1630-1830
on Monday, 22 Dec. Musical entertainment will be provided in the library
starting at *1630*, followed by light refreshments in the building 1 lobby,
and then more music. At approximately 1800, the 26" telescope will be
available for viewing Mars, and we'll switch over to Saturn around 2000
(weather permitting). As most of you know, the opportunity to use the 26"
telescope for viewing is rare, since the speckle camera is normally
installed. Views of Saturn have been particularly impressive - in fact on
Friday, 12 Dec, all 5 moons were visible!
If you plan to attend pls RSVP to me no later than 1200 on Monday, 22 Dec,
so that we can provide a guest list to the South Gate.
