A pleasant evening
Feb. 11th, 2006 12:26 pmPam wasn't feeling well enough to do the showing of "Don Juan" at the Landsburg, but
vvalkyri said she'd be glad to attend. We had a lovely dinner of tapas at La Tosca, which I had never been to before. Most of the tapas were very yummy, there was a vegetarian entry (eggplant?) which vvalkyri had ordered that was way yummier than I had expected it to be. The only tapas I didn't like was the spinach one, which suprises me not. We split a pitcher of Sangria, and I didn't have my usual problem of being such a light weight that I did a face plant into my dinner after the second glass. I guess that the wine in Sangria is low alcohol, which was fine with me. Vvalkyri and I had wide ranging conversations, although I think that if you get into a discussion about what "erudite" means that may in fact eliminate you from being erudite, since erudite people know what erudite means. I had never seen Don Juan before, just knew the pop culture reference of him being a womanizer, he gets much darker in the second act of the play, and I will say I preffered Don Juan version 1. The big hypocrisy speech at the end had many people thinking of a certain resident of a certain famous address downtown when Don Juan talked about hiding his evil behind a mask of respectability and destroying any enemy that dared disagree with him.
