My many years old HP32SII calculator is dying. The 3, 6, and 9 keys don't work relably. Of course HP no longer makes this model. I got the 32SII when my HP 15C died. Needless to say I can't get that one anymore. I buy a calculator every decade it seems, but is it too much to ask for HP to stop discontinuing the RPN models I like???????

What do you use a calculator for? (curious)

Basic math, conversion from radians to degrees and back, transforming from hours minutes seconds to decimal degrees, various trig functions.

Hrm. The only reason I know where my calculator is is because I'm taking a math class right now. It blows my mind to think of someone using a calculator regularly. :)

True. But isn't that what computers are for? Or is this all part of going out in the field. I'm going to have to check out some of our astronomers offices and see if I see any lurking calculators. :)

Well, when I'm at my desk its way more conveient to pick up a calculator than swivel my chair around, move to a free window, call up a calculator program, punch numbers in, then move back to my desk. :) I also find hand calculators easier to use than the computer ones, mostly cause I can push buttons faster than I can move and click a mouse.
