Strange is having a conversations about gay rights in a foreign country, because the taxi driver has recently seen "The Cowboys" (aka Brokeback Mountain) and wanted me to tell him how realistic the movie was. Unfortuantely I haven't seen the movie, but we got into an interesting discussion about gay rights and gender society expectations between the two countries.

I just recently watched the movie , didn't go to the theater to watch it even after all the good reviews. Assumed it would be cheesy, guess I proved myself very wrong.
I found it to be very well depicted , and well written.
It was set back in 63 , these guys had to keep there secret very well hidden, only able to see each other about once a year, every year .( good incentive to drive up a mountain to sleep in a tent for a week ;).
I found it to be very realistic, showed how it was to live in a society back then.
There was even a "hot" tent scene!!
Hell I'm lesbian................hehe
Made me very thankful ,17 years later growing up as a teenager I had to hide all my emtions ,desires missed my prom because I wanted to take a grl, so we just went to the beach instead
We had to lye and hide all the time ,only because my love was with the same sex. Hiding and suppressing all the years wonder what kind of effect that leaves in a person.
