I really hate it when a drive goes offline on my 2TBy raid array. I hate it even more when 45% of the way through a rebuild the array throws an error and takes itself offline. And then the partition table is no where to be found. If I had known that doing a rebuild could have made the situation worse I'd not have done it, since I could at least *read* the damn filesystem, even though I didn't have redundancy anymore.

Anyone know a good data recovery company?

The best is purported to be Drive Savers at http://www.drivesavers.com/.

However, there's supposedly New England based one which is purportedly just as good and somewhat cheaper. I'll poke around to see if I can find it again, and get back to you if I do.

Okay, that was faster than I had anticipated.

The company is actually in Colorado (no idea why I thought New England there, really...).

DataTech Lab.

The information I base this on is at: this Macintouch article.

Good luck, regardless.
