What sort of idiot goes to see Snakes on a Plane with an infant???? After about 20 minutes someone from the audience shouted out "Get that baby out of here" and got a round of applause due to all the crying from the infant. I hope the kid isn't scarred for life.

Other than the kid, how was the flick?

It's not the taking the infant to a movie, it staying in the movie with a crying infant.

Drwex and I took our kids as infants with us when we saw: X-men, Shaft, Leage of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Better Living Through Chemistry, and quite a few others while both kids were newborn till about 3-4 months old.

I didn't really get to see LXG because kidlet wouldn't sleep but I nursed both kids through movies and kept them in the car seat while they slept. I paced in the back during Shaft cause I had baby in the sling. It's not a dumb thing and I recommend it to many people with newborns. Just don't stay if the kid is crying.

Yeah, but infants can be remarkably unaffected by fright/horror movies. They aren't really aware of movies as representing reality yet, so they don't tend to be frightened of them. As for the noise, my son managed to sleep through my sister's wedding reception, in spite of the two mariachi bands playing at an ear-splitting level.

The real problem is that this infant was obviously upset (whether by the movie or by something else), and was also making it impossible for others to enjoy the movie.

QFT. The first few months are one of the few times that new moms can get out because after three or four months the kidlet is old enough to be aware and disturbed by things in the environment. Prior to that, it's nurse/sleep/momma here?OKgoodbyebyenow.

I bet you mom didn't change or nurse this kid and thus the crying.

Look at the movies I listed. Many of those are loud shoot them up movies with yelling and screaming. If it's done right then having the kid there is no big deal. If the kid is not coping LEAVE!!!! It's what we did. I missed much of several movies cause kidlet wouldn't cope.

That irks me, too. Besides, the volume in movie theatres is up so high that it hurts *my* ears; babies must be in awful pain during movies.
