How is normal defined? The long term average length of time between full moons is about 29.5 days, so just as most days aren't full moons, most perihelions aren't full moons. However, there is nothing preventing a full moon from occuring on perihelion day either.
The 2 events coinciding has got me feeling superstitious, and a bit reflective. I've decided that 1-3-07 was my personal New Year's Day, and that it's time to clear out the old in favor of the new. Hi sun, and hi new year too. :)
