Well, phffoey. But nevermind; I do have work I can do today. Also, I'm leaving work early to go home and do chores so that I can go out and play tonight.
I went the other way, from 495 out on 66 from 6:10 to 6:50, my 40 min. commute replacing my normal hour/hour 15 min. one. The only ice I encountered was on my windows.
Not exactly, I forget exactly what bridge it was, but 495 passes over 50, and these were 50 passing over something else. The cops were putting out orange cones and forcing all traffic into one lane, and it wasn't clear why they were doing that. Must have been cause the bridge was icier than the rest of the road, and they figured the warmth of passing traffic might keep one lane clear.
Amusingly (or not) the post adjacent to this on my flist is about how traffic on 50 in Arlington was fubar due to cops setting up for sobriety checkpoints later in the day. Oops.
