Now that blockbuster season has started

Do not watch movie with brain engaged. Disengage brain, eat popcorn, and watch things blow up. Trying to apply physics to the situation leaves you frustrated, and annoys whomever you went to see the movie with.

I love bad movies, so I have learned that when I start thinking of protesting that something doesn't make any sense, I need to realize that I've started thinking about the movies, and that is generally a bad idea.

Of course, this is because I like movies that don't take things too seriously, and therefore bad science and plot holes are allowed. If I'm watching a movie that is supposed to be serious, intelligent, had a decent budget, and a lot of production work, I may find myself resisting the urge to yell "How can you say that? Don't you know how many starving grad student there are in that field of study who would gladly have told you if you are doing it wrong?!"

I had the same problem when we watched The Core. It was so dumb it wrapped around to smart again.

You should start keeping score. See how many plot points and poor statements you can find in each movie. Rate the production houses at the end of the summer.
