Must not kill co worker
Aug. 7th, 2008 09:28 amI get a call that a printer in another building isn't working. The computer
that drives the print queue's has been crashing a bit recently, but its running fine.
I walk to the other building to try to figure out what is wrong with the printer, and I find THAT IT IS OUT OF PAPER!

Date: 2008-08-07 05:56 pm (UTC)ask the end user with the issue any question that most any semi intelligent mammal with a brain would have known to check - only then get up and go to said problematic device :)
You know sort of like the "my PC won't boot up" person first gets asked - have you pressed the start button? Are you certain that its plugged into a power source? type questions.
Sadly this is situation for you resulted in some wasted walking and a level of stress because your now more aware of just how incompetent some of your coworkers really are. Makes you feel secure knowing that somewhere out there the "forgot to check the paper" person has job responsibilities that are all their very own with probably little supervision. *shudder*
Hope the walk at least was a peaceful one.
