A quick visit to Wikipedia states "In most cases, acute bronchitis is caused by viruses, not bacteria, and will go away on its own without antibiotic"
Also, last time I got diagnosed, I paid $80 for some drugs that did little to nothing, and it went away after about a week. I might as well just hydrate and take vitamin C.
Although, the article does state to avoid antihistamines, but decongestants and cough meds are fine.
That matches what my doc says. She said if it was viral it would go away in a week. Since I went in complaing I've been sick for a week and am now sick of being sick, she gave me drugs. Although at $5.80 they were a whole lot cheaper than the drugs you were given.
Ah. Yes. As I started the sickness last... maybe Thursday, and am rapidly progressing through the steps as proscribed:
"Bronchitis usually begins with a dry cough, including waking the sufferer at night. After a few days it progresses to a wetter or productive cough, which may be accompanied by fever, fatigue, and headache. The fever, fatigue, and malaise may last only a few days; but the wet cough may last up to several weeks."
As the fever, fatigue, and malaise has already begun to lessen, I think I'll be fine.
