Xmas eve I got an email from my current client reminding everyone to stay by their phones in case something came up.

Yeah, right.

We're on vacation, which means unavailable. It's not like they're a hospital or something.

Make sure to get the home phone numbers for your idiot cow-orkers and make a point of calling them while they're on vacation. See how they like it.

Several of my co-workers have commented on the fact that I don't take a day off to do things around the house. When I take vacation I tend to leave the Hemisphere. (Usually to the British Isles but I have branched out to a couple other places lately.) It really cuts down on the calls from the Office.

When I decided to go to the first Boardwalk Boogie (a swing dance weekend) at Virginia Beach someone actually commented that I was acting out of character - that wasn't even out of state for me...

:) I feel you. My cell never quit ringing while I was on vaca for Christmas. I turned it off after day two, though .. :)
