I wasn't there, but I suspect its the lastest stupid thing being used as a club in the pissing match between our department and the comptroller.

The issue is that I'm not using the complicated web form to ask for leave (cause its windows only and I use linux) and my boss isn't using the complicated web form to approve leave (cause its windows only and he uses a mac), and the comptroller is trying to score points with the XO and the Captain by pointing out stupid rules we don't follow that she slavishly follows in her department.

We get 1 pool of time off (vacation and sick leave) but they get testy if more than X amount of your time off is unplanned (which is probably sick leave!)

Thank goodness my agency never says anything about scheduling sick leave. As long as you turn in a leave slip once you get back they're happy.
