I had a good time shoveling! I spoke to more of my neighbors today than any previous two months combined and I feel especially accomplished. I even found the ice melt. <<>>>
I miss the neighborly part of being in the suburbs during a "good" snow. It was a lot of fun working together to get everyone cleaned out, grousing about the snowplow berms against the driveways, etc.
Started shoveling at 8:15. Around 9ish, my cousin in law came out and brushed off two cars. I continued to shovel snow. Around 9:30 my brother-in-law made food. I ate some. I continued to shovel. Around 10:15ish my sister-in-law, cousin-in-law and her boyfriend cleared off other cars. I continued to shovel snow. Around 12:30 I finally finished shoveling snow.
I'm glad for you! Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
CK bought a big! strong! snowblower on Friday. On Saturday, he made paths all around the house, out to the two main goat-gates and the hay barn, and cleaned all the way up the driveway at a width wide enough for one car... twice. I'd say that the snowblower has already paid for itself in convenience.
Today, I cleaned off two of the three cars: my car and the truck. I figure that those two vehicles give us all the options we need. My car has snow chains already on it, and the truck has 4x4 optional.
We have a tractor with a back-blade, which is reasonable for reasonable amounts of snow. 20 inches is not reasonable for a back-blade - it rolls right over it.
If certain people insist on going to BWI, they have to shovel snow. I was nice and warm in bed waiting for you to finish shoveling. *GRIN* I still can't get over the chaos all the nitwits trying to drive around in the wrong cars caused being on the interstate this morning. I saw 20 plus car wrecks!
