PSA I66 Fubar this weekend
Aug. 24th, 2010 10:00 amWASHINGTON - Heads up if you're going to be out and about in the car this weekend.
Getting from here to there will be tricky in places, particularly if your travel plans include I-66.
Starting at 7:00 Friday night and lasting through 5 a.m. Monday, two of the three eastbound lanes between Nutley Street and the Beltway will be closed, as crews prepare to shift traffic to the new I-66 bridges over the Beltway.
The Virginia Department of Transportation urges motorists to consider alternate routes to avoid major delays.
Also starting this week, as part of the Dulles Rail Project, expect overnight closures of westbound I-66 at the toll road.
Stay tuned to WTOP throughout the week, and we'll help guide you through it.
