Just finished Hunger Games II, loved it, but part of the final battle was confusing. Who is able to talk about it in the comments so not to give away spoilers?
1) What was up with the champain President snow was drinking. It was normal, then it was blood red, then it was normal. I thought for a second he was assassinated, but nope.
2) Final battle. Katness and the other girl (tm) are taking the wire to the beach. They get attacked, the other girl pretends to slit Katness's throat, Katness hides when other Bad Dude comes by, then runs to find Peeta. She finds electricity dude (BT?) dead, finds a wood staff with a blade on the end, and sees in the trees the wavy lines of a force field. Was BT messing with the game clock to cause the lightning early? Was BT about to betray Katness? What was up with the staff with a blade on the end?

May have just been a trick of the light to imply his evilness 2) a) pretends to slit throat was actually removing her tracker because she knew a rescue was coming (this is why Peeta wasn't rescued at the same time) b) wood staff with blade on end, wrapped with wire, was thing that was going to be used to electrify water c) No, he was knocked out trying to get the wires working, probably attempting to short out the force field in the same way Katniss ended up doing with her arrow.
with 2) a) i thought the girl both removed the tracker and pretended to slit katness's throat since katness ended up with blood on her arm and on her neck.
Wasn't electricity dude trying to run a wire back to the beach, so that they could electrocute the ones that weren't allies? I assumed he'd been killed while trying to do that, which was why the tree was wrapped in wire. But the wire wouldn't have ended up doing anything, since the wire they were carrying to the beach had been broken. So Katness then attached the wire from the tree to the bladey thing to knock out the force field.
the tree needed to conduct the lightning down. the wire was supposed to go all the way to the waater but was cut. I suspect the staff was hoping to throw to the dome.
I'm actually thinking the spear wrapped with wire was for either attempting to hit the dome (unlikely given it is so high) or as a thought for defense if attacked near when the lightning was to hit.
It was blood in the champagne (in the books, Katniss notices that he smells of blood and roses during her meeting with him at her home, the movie changed this to this visual instead), but as it is foreshadowing of a later plot point, I'll leave it at confirmation.
