Mars attacks!

USNO will be having public tours for Mars viewing through the 26 inch telescope Sept 16th and 18th. Sign up at

I'll probably go in Wednesday night to see it through the 12 inch. Anyone interested in coming along? It will probably be close to midnight when I'm done, in case anyone has to get to work early.

I have Cappricio Rehearsal tomorrow night, er, somewhere. What are the timing considerations?

When is your rehearsal done? Given that I work here, I can come and go anytime I want to. The harder part is finding where we can meet up.

Oof. Not entirely sure. It is, I think, going to be in Alexandria, exit 5, and will, I believe, start at 7:30. Which makes it a safeish bet that it shall end at 9:30.

This group is having a small to middling to large amount of turmoil just now, so that could push out a bit as we review setlists. Bleh.

/me is not hugely practiced in begging, per se, though she can do a convincing imitation of a whining puppy. She supposes that if she does something like that whilst kneeling before ghs and clutching at his slacks fabric that might be a start. Until she exclaims "owww" when her knees start complaining.

Hmm, do you know where the Safeway on Wisconsin ave is? We can meet there at 10pm, hop into my car, and then go into the observatory, where it is easy to enter if we're all in one car.

Hmm, and whining puppy isn't really my style, sorry. But thanks for the effort. :)

Fine with me. The tentivate plan was to play things by ear (if that isn't a oxymoron) and try to meet at 10pm in the parking lot of the SafeWay on Wisconsin ave just south of Mass. We'd then transfer into my car and drive into USNO. Valky said she had a rehearsal of some sort that ended at 9:30, but you may know better than I do about that. :)

I talked to Valky last night, and we're going to play it by ear for a week or so, waiting for some clear weather. You are obviously welcome to join in, if and when we can find some clear sky.
