Midnight post office runs

gshSo I type up a cover letter explaining how
I mailed all the forms but forgot the check,
and put that letter, the check, and a copy
of the 1040 into an envelope and saunter down
to Merrifield after watching Angel. I've never
done the midnight post office before. I was
amased at how much effort was put into this.
V Dot had lights and two lines (one each
way) had orange cones up so people could drive
by and drop off their tax forms. I had to go
inside for more stamps, and everyone was polite
and seemed stress free. As much as everyone doesn't like taxes, Americans sure pay them with only minor bitching about them.

In case you need it, that particular post office is
open until either 11 or midnight during the week normally and until
surprisingly late on Saturdays. It's saved me more than
once. ;)
