Non-linear conversations

So I get home at 6:30ish yesterday, and pet the dogs, and start flipping through the mail before starting dinner, and the phone rings. It's Pam.

She asks if I want to meet her at PJ's for dinner. I say fine, and ask if she has any money, cause
I don't. (We try not to pay for dinner via credit cards.)

Pam says she doesn't know. Like an idiot I ask her how she can't know, just look in her wallet.

She tells me her wallet is in the car. I tell her I can wait for her to get it. She tells me the car is over a mile away from where she is.

I stop and think for a second, and ask her if she is all right, and is the car ok? Has she had
a breakdown or a flat.

She tells me the car is fine, she is fine,
she just isn't where the car is.

I ask her why not, and she tells me it was because she had to rescue a goose.

At this point I give up and figure I ought to get
the rest of the story in person, cause at this rate I could be on the phone for an hour, and still
not have any food.

Isn't life simple at times?

Are you going to tell us the goose story or leave us hanging?
