Does this qualify as irony?

My workday commute has been adversely affected for well over a year due to the construction of HOT lanes on 495, construction has slowed traffic from I66 onto I495. Saturday the new "flyover" lane opened, and instead of one lane of traffic, the new flyover allows two lanes of traffic, which might speed things up. So, today on my first attempt of using the new bridge, with a hope of a perhaps shorter wait, traffic was all backed up, due to an accident on the new flyover lane. *sigh*

I feel your pain. Currently commuting from central Arlington to Laurel (long story), so in the morning I cross the 14th St. bridge on 395, take 295S down to Suitland Parkway, and then use the cloverleaf to go north on 295 thus avoiding any traffic lights. This means having to cross over 3 lanes from far right to far left in a pretty short distance during rush-hour traffic...

... or at least it did until this morning, when everything had changed so that the new ramp into the city is now on the *left* and northbound 295 is on the *right*! There are GIANT orange highway signs for the new traffic pattern overhead, which I did not see because I was too busy looking at cars in the actual roadway while trying to get across traffic. So, I told my co-workers I got lost on the way to work today. :)

And there was an accident in the middle of that change-over today. I wonder if it was caused by someone changing his/her mind?
